Building useful digital products from real business problems
Not every digital project starts with a complete brief, some start with a frustration (usually my own), a repeated admin task, a gap in an existing market or a question that keeps coming up in client conversations.
At Made Grand, we use product experiments and working demos to explore those ideas quickly. Not as static mock-ups or speculative slide decks, but functioning digital prototypes designed to test structure, usability, positioning and commercial potential.
Each demo starts with a practical problem.
How can a contractor track time more clearly?
How could recruitment feel more honest and less opaque?
How can someone keep a simple private record of meals, symptoms and daily patterns?
How can a founder, freelancer or creative team organise early-stage product ideas without losing the thinking behind them?
These experiments help us explore those questions in a way that is visible, testable and easy to discuss.
Why we build product demos
Many businesses reach a point where a standard website is not enough and end up needing a tool, dashboard, client portal, booking flow, reporting system or a simple digital tool/product that helps them do something more easily.
A product demo makes the idea tangible as it gives us something to click through, question, test and improve. It also helps reduce risk before larger decisions are made around investment, development, branding or launch.
For Made Grand, these demos are a way to show how we think beyond the page.
We look at the problem, the user journey, the information structure, the interface and the commercial purpose behind the product.
Featured demos
Clockified
A time tracking and project reporting demo for project-based work
Clockified explores how freelancers, consultants and small teams might track time, billable work and project activity in a cleaner, more focused way.
The demo focuses on simple day-to-day use, with clear project records, time entries and reporting.
It is designed around the kind of practical visibility small businesses often need when managing client work.
Palto
A recruitment platform concept focused on trust, honesty and clarity
Palto explores a more transparent approach to recruitment.
The concept looks at how candidates and employers could share clearer expectations earlier in the process, reducing wasted time, vague communication and mismatched opportunities.
It is built around the idea that recruitment should feel more honest, structured and human.
Hara
A private gut health and food diary app
Hara is a simple personal diary app for tracking meals, symptoms, mood, sleep, stress, medication and daily notes.
The idea is not to diagnose medical issues. It is designed to help people notice patterns in their own records and create useful context for future conversations with a GP or healthcare professional.
The product line is simple: Notice what your body has been saying.
Project Command Centre
A project and idea management dashboard for early-stage concepts
Project Command Centre explores how founders, freelancers and creative teams can organise early-stage ideas before they become fully scoped projects.
It gives structure to scattered notes, product concepts, MVP thinking and project priorities.
The demo is designed for the messy middle stage, where ideas are valuable but still need sorting, scoring and shaping.

What these experiments show
These product demos demonstrate how Made Grand can help shape early-stage digital ideas into something practical.
They show capability across:
- Product thinking
- UX and interface design
- MVP planning
- Web app prototyping
- Dashboard and data interface design
- Content structure
- Commercial positioning
- Frontend development
- AI-supported planning and ideation
They also show how quickly an idea can move from loose concept to working prototype when the scope is kept focused.
From idea to testable product
A working demo does not need to include every feature. In fact, the best early demos usually avoid that.
The aim is to identify the core value of the product and make that value visible.
That might mean creating a clickable prototype, a working MVP, a private internal tool or a public-facing demo that can be used to start conversations with customers, investors, partners or stakeholders.
Thinking about your own product idea?
If you have an idea for a digital product, internal platform, customer tool or service-led app, Made Grand can help you shape it into something clearer.
We can help define the user journey, plan the MVP, design the interface and build a focused first version that is ready to test.
