The Challenge
Most project management tools are designed to organise tasks inside a single project.
They are much less useful when somebody is managing several unrelated projects, products and ideas at the same time, and the real question is not what task comes next but which project deserves attention at all.
The challenge was to create a system that could provide a strategic overview without becoming another heavy project management platform.

What We Built
The approach was to build around portfolio thinking rather than task management. Each project needed enough structure to be understood and compared, but not so much administration that maintaining the system became another project in itself. The first version focused on creating a single overview of the work, ideas and opportunities inside Made Grand. From there, the system grew through daily use, adding project activity, notes, decisions, secure operations and an MCP connection that allows supported AI tools to work with the same project information.

Outcome
Project Command Centre has developed from a portfolio dashboard into a private strategic system for Made Grand. It provides a single overview of the products, client projects, experiments and future ideas shaping the business, while making it easier to understand where attention is going and whether that effort supports the wider commercial direction. The MCP connection means the system can also be queried and updated through supported AI tools. Instead of relying on whichever fragments happen to be included in the current conversation, the AI can work with structured information about project status, value, effort, risk, decisions, recent activity and next actions. The platform is also becoming the foundation for the Made Grand Growth Engine, connecting project activity with potential case studies, website content, LinkedIn posts, follow-up actions and wider marketing opportunities.
